How did we get here?
We started paintballing with slingshots. There were about four of us back then. We would paintball in peoples back and front yards. People with their dogs would run by and we would stop the games. Afterwards we would go wipe off all the paint we shot, and explain to people why we needed to go in their back yards to wipe off paint. When we got hit with the paint it would either break on our goggles, or if it hit our body it would hurt like hell. It was still fun, very different than real paintballing, the strategie is different, and there is a ton of bunkering. I suggest you try it, a slingshot is about 8 bucks.
Then one day Phil and I(Kevin) went to K-Mart. While looking at the guns we seriously were considering buying them. We sat and looked at them for a while. I was going to buy a Vulcan and Phil was going to buy a Stingray. Phils mom wouldn't let me buy a gun because my mom wasn't there(Thank God I couldn't), but Phil bought the stingray. He was the only one with a gun for a while, but Christmas came around and suddenly there were 3 more people to paintball with, that all had guns. We stopped playing in back yards and city parks, now we had started playing in the woods where we had built little houses because we planned on sleeping down there. Me and most of the rest of the slingshotters(about 5) refused to play, but we couldn't keep away from the sport and started playing with the guns. Phil got a Spyder and sold his pump to his brother. 3 semis - 1 pump - and like 3 slingshotters, quite an odd combo.
Once everyone had guns we started organizing, we made a list of people.
We started building walls and changing the terrain for paintballing. At
first it was really fun, now there were 5 semis - and 2 pumps or something
like that. However, I found myself getting out fire powered. I looked
into buying a semi and decided to get the Joker, again I was the last
to convert. We have changed the feild to be more speedball oriented at the bottom, and more centerflag area at the top. Our favorite game overall is centerflag with a limit of 2 rooms. Now we have more walls than you can shake an ugly stick at(the same one Phils mom uses) and we have a few rental sets, and a list of 30 people or so. I dont think we will stop for a long time. |
